Our methodologies serve as roadmaps for companies by setting out what ‘good’ looks like – based on societal expectations and the latest scientific research. They are continuously updated to reflect the latest standards and norms, to ensure that the data that we produce reliably reflects the performance of businesses in contributing to sustainable development.

These methodologies lay out the metrics that the World Benchmarking Alliance will use to assess and rank the performance of the 2000 most influential companies in 2025 across our seven system transformations. The results will be launched all at once in January 2026.
